Meet the Author - Libby Page

Libby Page is the Sunday Times bestselling author of The Lido and four other novels. Her latest book The Lifeline is a follow up to The Lido and tells the story of a group of unlikely friends who connect through a river swimming group. Libby is an enthusiastic wild dipper and lives in Somerset with her family. The Lifeline was in part inspired by her experiences of new motherhood (and finding it much harder than she'd expected!). As well as writing novels she works as a writing coach for The Novelry.

Libby joins us in the Boat House at The Swan at Streatley to chat about her book, the inspiration for her writing, motherhood and wild swimming.

There will be plenty of opportunity to ask questions and, for those who are really inspired, we'll be wrapping up the morning with a guided dip, supported by our local partners Jo Jones and The SUP Life. Just select the Wild Swim ticket at checkout to take part.

Wallingford Book Shop will be providing copies of The Lifeline to buy on the day - signed by Libby of course! The perfect book group outing!

PS: Sunday mornings are buzzing at Coppa, if you'd like to stay on for brunch and make a morning of it, book a table here.

About the dip

Jo Jones is our resident swim instructor, running regular Swim & Sauna sessions from the riverside at the Swan at Streatley from May - Sept.

On Sun 19th, Jo will be hosting a short taster session dip, for those who, quite literally wish to dip their toes in the water and see what all the fuss is about! Jo will be on hand, along with The SUP Life paddleboarders, to ensure this is a safe and enjoyable river experience.

Please bring your costume, towel, plus goggles & swim hat if you wear them. If you have neoprene swim socks, bring them along, but they are not essential.
